The EVOC Red Book

The online directory to find third sector Organisations, and their services across Edinburgh

Directory of local groups/projects who are offering specific support during the current COVID-19 pandemic »

In line with Government advice, most groups and organisations in the city have had to take the unfortunate decision to suspend face to face and group work activities. Please telephone or email the contacts listed for the group or organisation if you are interested in their work to check what alternative arrangements might be available or to find out about alternative groups or services in your area.

When caring for your loved one at home, it is so easy to forget about yourself. We can help you to continue your caring role by finding a support worker who can offer companionship to your loved one for three hours once a week to allow you to have some time to spend meeting a friend, attending an exercise class or educational class you have always wanted to do.

We try to match our Support Workers to you and your loved one with likewise interests. Our Support Workers will get to know you and your loved one and plan with you suitable activities. If your loved one is physically fit, they may go on outings such as walking, visiting art galleries, attending church group, exhibitions, shopping, going swimming or to exercise classes.

If your loved one is unable to go out, the Support Worker may play board games such as scrabble, chess, snakes and ladders, card games, music, reminiscence or helping with computer basics.

Our service is free and our Support Workers are all disclosure checked and have regular training.
