If you have recently received a diagnosis of dementia, the Scottish Government has given you a guarantee of support for at least a year from a named and trained person, called a Post Diagnostic Support Link Worker (or similar title).
This means supporting you in adjusting to a diagnosis and its likely impact - both emotionally and practically; and helping you plan for the future and work through the key issues and supports available. This should help you live well with dementia in your own home and local community for as long as possible.
For further information about the Post Diagnostic Support Link Worker Service, please get in touch with its office on 0131 551 9350; EdinburghServices@Alzscot.org
