COVID-19 Service UPDATE...

The SCOREscotland Green Futures Project is funded by the Climate Challenge Fund, to raise awareness and support action by local BME and majority communities to address the causes and the effects of climate change. In order to remain as relevant as ever, under COVID-19 conditions, we have had to make some adjustments as follows:

Bike Loans for Key Workers

We have made our bicycles available for key workers to borrow. This will enable them to travel to work under their own steam, avoiding the current risks associated with public transport. Not only will this active travel boost key workers’ mental and physical health levels but significantly, it will also reduce carbon emissions. We welcome old bikes which can get a new lease of life. Please donate and enable more key workers to cycle to work. For further details, please call: 07496 190 752.

Dr Bike

We are further supporting communities to stay active, by offering Free bike repair services. ‘Dr Bike’ visits our offices on the last Friday of each month. Contact us: 07496 190 752 to book a slot at our next monthly Dr Bike session.

The Community Fridge is now open to members and following all safety guidelines from the Scottish government.

The fridge is open 4 days a week for 2 hrs each day with different time slots:

Monday 1:30pm – 3:30pm
Tuesday 10:30am – 12:30pm
Wednesday 11:00am – 1pm
Thursday 1:30pm – 3:30pm

Community members are not allowed into the Whale Arts building but staff/volunteers will be giving out food items operating outside of the main door. You must bring your own bag.

People are allowed to visit once a week while everyone will be social distancing, practicing good hand hygiene and wearing face coverings. We will be limiting the number of visitors in the allocated space at one time.

Please text on 07496190752 if you have any questions.

To help reduce waste, and turn your used fabrics into ‘new’ clothes, we are offering accessible sewing sessions online by our experienced trainer. In addition, this activity is supporting participants to cope better with the adverse effects of lockdown and isolation. Some are even making masks! For further information, please call: 07496 190 752.
