We support children, young people and families who face barriers and challenges as they make their way through childhood, adolescence and early adulthood.
Family Support:
- 1:1 support for parents/carers
- Parent/carer Facebook group
- Supporting parents/carers as a link between schools and other support agencies
- Working with young people and parents together to support mental health, ASD routines and relationships
We are mainly supporting parents of young people who are referred or being supported but anyone can access Facebook groups and potential support.
Under 12's support is mainly for SE of Edinburgh but over 12 years is citywide service along with the social media support.
Covid-19
The demand from families connected with Canongate Youth has been significant and families have benefitted from this additional service Canongate Youth were able to provide due to the Wellbeing Funding.
CY are keen to maintain and expand the family support services currently on offer.
