Course details...

Our computing course provides participants with essentials computing skills. It offers an introduction to: ICT operations, processing information (using Microsoft software packages), finding information using the internet and other sources, keeping information safe and online security.

The course allows participants to progress on to studying for the European Computing Driving Licence (ECDL). This more advanced course is made up of a series of modules and is internationally recognised by employers and educational institutions.

The course is delivered in partnership with Edinburgh College and is designed for unemployed students from disadvantaged backgrounds who may require support to maintain a college place. It offers progression on to a range of related courses at the College.

Who - Participants must be of working age and not currently in education or employment. They must also meet other specific entry requirements (contact us for details).

When - Classes run daily.

Why - Participants learn a range of practical computer skills that will enhance their employability and be useful in their day-to-day lives. The course allows participants to progress on to studying for the European Computing Driving Licence (ECDL).

Where - The course is delivered at 156 Cowgate in Edinburgh.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, classes have a limited number of places available, and they are on a first-come first served basis. However, attendance is closely monitored, and non-attenders may have their place given to someone else.
