“A CHILD OR YOUNG PERSON’S WELLBEING IS INFLUENCED BY EVERYTHING AROUND THEM, AND BY THE DIFFERENT EXPERIENCES AND NEEDS THEY HAVE.”

With this in mind, at LOVE Gorgie Farm we deliver intensive support services that not only help children understand how to self-regulate their mental health, but also empower parents and carers to support.

CHILDREN MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT GROUPS

Our service is based upon the educational model of bringing together social care services and education. We are reactive to the need that many of our young people who are in danger of exclusion have suffered trauma, and attachment issues.

We work with children who have additional support needs like ASD or who are vulnerable for a variety of reasons including social, emotional, behavioural difficulties. These include offending, aggression or anxiety and mental health issues. All our cases are overseen by a clinical or educational psychologist.

We recognise that all people have different learning styles and that their age and stage of development can be affected by trauma or the experiences that they are exposed to. Developmental milestones depend very much on the opportunities the child or young person has to practise them or the experiences available to them.

Get in touch if you would like your child to be part of our support groups.

PARENTS EARLY INTERVENTION WORKSHOPS

We provide early intervention workshops with parents to increase their parental capacity and insight into their parenting skills. This includes workshops for parents on issues such as ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences), Solihull, Five to Thrive, PPP, Mindful Parenting, neuroscience, child development, managing behaviour and many more.

We already have well established working links across Scotland and the services we provide work in partnership with referring agencies and schools. Our outreach project is an innovative project that does not duplicate existing services. It is a collaboration of services that will enhance the statutory provision in a way that is different and difficult for other organisations to offer.
