information SERVICE DETAILS

Farming and agriculture are two of the most important activities where our relationship with nature is evidenced. Through these activities we believe in creating educational tools that encourage new generations in creating a brighter and eco-friendly future.

As part of the National Network for Outdoor Learning, LOVE Gorgie Farm hosts our Earth School project. A range of projects for children and adults merging our educational values and environmental credentials to stimulate knowledge and harness love for our surrounding environment. We have strong partnerships and connections with a variety of organisations like Unifying Fields Foundation and Children in Permaculture.

Through our Earth School, we aim to enhance personal mindfulness, meditation and all-inclusive practices involving nature, and expanding these to mainstream activities across visitors from any age.

REGENERATIVE FARMING

In partnership with global charity Unifying Fields Foundation, we have developed a project relying on Regenerative Farming for children and schools, which seeks to cultivate strong ecosystems that are rich and viable whilst healing harmed land.

Our Regenerative Farming programme is specially designed for schools and its main objective is to create an informal learning environment in which children can:

- Develop practical skills
- Manual skills and planting techniques.
- Foster the understanding of nature’s dynamics
- Basic knowledge of biology and other ecosystems.
- Learn how to coexist and care for others
- Emotional and social skills that involve empathy and the sense of belonging.

If this is something your school or kids would like to get involved in, please get in touch!

MINI FARMERS

For Early Years we will revive our Mini Farmers project, a fun activity engaging pre-school & primary children across the farm with our animals and gardens.

This project allows the youngest of our visitors to engage with nature and learn the ethics and values of caring for the earth and for others from a very early age. It will also educate them of the need to live in harmony with nature and with the resources it provides.

Would you like your toddler to be part of these activities? Please get in touch!

WILDLING PROJECT

In partnership with LOVE Care, our Wildling Project provides the opportunity to enhance care services of children who need an extra bit of support outwith mainstream education due to difficulties related to mental health, social integration, ADHD and ASD.

Our Wildling Project provides care, support, therapies and learning experiences through outdoor activities that are specially designed for kids with disabilities and additional support needs. These activities ensure that these children also have the opportunity to participate and connect with nature.

If you would like to learn more about our Wilding Project, please get in touch!

GREEN CLASSROOM

At LOVE Gorgie Farm, we will assist with the increasing demand for outdoor learning space after the COVID-19 pandemic with our new Green Classroom project in connection with Children in Permaculture.

Our Green Classroom project provides a natural space for children to learn through outdoors experiences and get the opportunity to empower their confidence and personal development.

This project is ideal for local schools looking to outsource large outdoor spaces and provide an alternative style of learning where their pupils are surrounded by nature.

Is your school interested in this? Please get in touch.

LOVE Gorgie Farm is also an accredited training centre and we have set up a local hub providing training opportunities for teachers and facilitators looking to become skilled and confident in leading children through their learning process in outdoors experiences.

If this is something you would like to increase your training in please contact us.

GARDEN FOREST

At LOVE Gorgie Farm we believe that having a sense of place in nature and a good connection with the land that produces food is fundamental for our physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing, as well as to provide greater ecological awareness and unity within our communities.

Our Garden Forest will offer members of the community and organisations a place where they can grow, cook and eat together, whilst enhancing personal mindfulness, meditation and all-inclusive natural practices.

If you would like to participate in our Garden Forest, please get in touch.
