Singing4Fun is a community singing group which has been meeting since April 2009 and is run by Parkinson’s UK Edinburgh Branch members, Cathie Quinn and Heather Robertson, and song leader Penny Stone.
We welcome people with Parkinson’s, carers, family, friends and everyone in the wider community.
We sing for fun and enjoyment – it is good for health, it builds friendships and laughter is guaranteed! We sing in a range of styles and languages to suit every taste, everything from songs from musicals to hymns, from Scots songs to beautiful German ballads.
Although we are not a performance group as such our members do have the option of appearing at public events: for example we have sung at St Giles Cathedral, at St Mary’s Cathedral and at the Usher Hall to raise money for Water Aid, environmental charities and research into Parkinson’s.
Why not come along and sing with us? There are no auditions, no prior experience is required and there is no requirement to read music.
