The EVOC Red Book

The online directory to find third sector Organisations, and their services across Edinburgh

Only services that are currently available during COVID-19 are listed in the directory.

In line with Government advice, most groups and organisations in the city have had to take the unfortunate decision to suspend face to face and group work activities. Please telephone or email the contacts listed for the group or organisation if you are interested in their work to check what alternative arrangements might be available.

We are a registered charity, based in Edinburgh, supporting those with chaotic lifestyles and experiencing difficulties in their lives in Scotland, the UK. We are passionate about enabling people who want to make changes in their lives for a better future. For our participants, our programmes represent an opportunity - a chance to boost confidence, motivation and aspirations, and to develop the skills to make their ambitions reality.

What we do...

Since 1983, Venture Trust has led the way on intensive personal development for people, at any stage in their life, struggling with issues such as long term unemployment, recovery from addiction, homelessness, isolation, involvement in the criminal justice system in Scotland, and a history of trauma or harm.

We provide:

- Evidence and impact led criminal justice programmes focused on rehabilitation and reducing offending throughout Scotland
- Employability programmes for young people facing hardship and disadvantage in Scotland
- Evidence led programmes for ex-service personnel struggling with civilian life
- Personal development programmes that significantly improve people’s wellbeing, relationships and use of local support and services

We support people in their local community and with learning and development in the Scottish wilderness. The outdoors offers inherent challenge for individuals to reflect on beliefs, attitudes and behaviours. With time and space away from influences at home, individuals can unlock skills and learn new, more positive, ways of approaching situations.
