The PF Counselling Service is a registered charity established in 1986 as The Pastoral Foundation. Our vision is to enable people to embrace life more fully through the growth, changes and healing that can take place through the counselling process, regardless of background, experience, or ability to pay.
The PF provides a professional service of confidential affordable weekly sessions to adults (age 18+) who need counselling support to enable them to work through personal issues such as depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, bereavement and loss, sexual difficulties, abuse, low self-esteem, spiritual difficulties and unresolved childhood issues.
All PF counsellors are volunteers and either qualified or in the final stages of training and abide by the COSCA (Counselling and Psychotherapy in Scotland) Statement of Ethics and Code of Practice.
Whoever you are, we offer a unique and effective personal counselling service for adults. We seek to enable people to embrace life more fully through the growth, changes and healing that can take place in counselling. We offer a professional service where each person is cherished and valued, and where their beliefs and situation are respected, without financial restriction.
Counselling at the PF is provided by trained volunteer counsellors, supported by volunteer receptionists, clinical supervisors a governance Board, and a small staff team.
The service is available to individuals over the age of 18, and every client is invited to make affordable donations to support our work.
We are located in the Morningside area of Edinburgh.
