information DESCRIPTION

The Boys' Brigade is a Christian organisation which cares for and challenges young people for life through a programme of informal education in a fun way. Each week around 20,000 young people, aged 5 to 18, take part in one of our 450 groups.

The 20th Leith Boys' Brigade is part of Edinburgh, Leith and District Battalion. The Edinburgh, Leith and District Battalion was formed on the 1st September 1998 through the mergers of Edinburgh and Leith Battalions. Edinburgh, Leith & District Battalion, incorporates the City of Edinburgh, Midlothian and East Lothian Council Areas.

It has over 30 local Companies that make up the Battalion, with each of these groups being attached to a local church. It has over 1,000 Boy members and 300 volunteer adult leaders/helpers who give of their time freely each week.

The 20th Leith Boys' Brigade is attached to Newhaven Parish Church, Newhaven.

The Boys' Brigade works with Boys from Primary 2 to Secondary 6, in 3 distinct Sections covering 4 age groups:

- Anchors: P2 & 3
- Juniors: P4, 5 & 6
- Company Section: P7 - S6
- Seniors: Within the Company Section there are activities and programmes for senior boys from S4 - S6.

If you are between 6 and 18 years of age and would like to join The Boys’ Brigade, or wish more information on the Boys’ Brigade in your area, then please get in touch.
