Covid-19 UPDATE...

We are still taking new referrals for phone or video link support.

This is a free professional counselling service which is available to all young people aged 12-25 who are either physically disabled or have a long-term health condition which affects their daily life.

We can offer weekly sessions of one hour counselling for up to 10 weeks.

Online counselling can be arranged to suit the client

Normal service details...

Counselling is a type of talking therapy that allows a person to talk about their problems and feelings in a confidential and dependable environment.

We aim to provide counselling and emotional support to young people aged 12-25 with a physical disability or long-term health condition living in the Lothian region.

We offer weekly individual sessions of one hour counselling in fully accessible rooms with friendly, experienced, qualified staff. You can say as much or as little as you like.

We also offer counselling by video link or telephone if you prefer not to travel into our base in Leith. The times for this service can be more flexible, but it is also at a fixed time for one hour per week.

HOW IT WORKS

If you think that you or someone you know could benefit from our service, please contact us to arrange an introductory meeting.

We understand that impairments come in different shapes and sizes. Please do not feel embarrassed or guilty about requirements you may have. We understand that you may not want anyone to know that you have contacted us and we will do our best to help you to access the service.

CONFIDENTIALITY

Everything you tell your counsellor is totally confidential. This means that they are not allowed to tell anyone else what you have said. The only time this rule can be broken is if they are genuinely concerned about your safety.

WHERE AND WHEN

We have sessions on weekday afternoons at totally accessible premises with disabled toilets and limited disabled parking at Norton Park Conference Centre just off Easter Road in Leith.

COSTS

The service is totally FREE.

However, if you do want to make a small donation, please see http://www.talktimescotland.co.uk/support for more information.
