information SERVICE DETAILS

One of our most popular shops. Nestled closed to the green haven of the Meadows and University of Edinburgh buildings, with all of George IV Bridge's eateries on hand. This shop is usually stuffed full of on-trend finds, and ever-popular with local students.

You support sustainable fashion by picking up second-hand bargains at your local Shelter Scotland shop.

You can also donate any high quality used items you want to clear out and - if you'd like to - sign up to volunteer in the shop at the same time.

Accessibility

- Wheelchair access
- Small step to access the shop

We'd love your donations

We love donations of high quality items! Whether you're making space in your wardrobe by getting rid of old clothes, freeing yourself of unwanted books, or just having a bit of a clear out, bring your pre-loved goods down to our shop.

We'll gladly take donations while we're open, but please don't leave any goods outside the shop when we're closed.

Although we're grateful for every donation, there are a few things we're unfortunately unable to take, so do check the list on the right before heading down.

What we accept

- Good quality second-hand clothes
- Books
- CDs and DVDs
- Vinyl records
- Games

- Small electrical items*

*not available in all Shelter shops, so please check before bringing these items in.

What we can't accept

- Items in poor condition
- White goods
- Upholstered items without a fire label
