Hub Grub Café is the hub of the Ripple and is in an area with no other gathering place. We offer freshly made, nutritious and affordable meals and home baking. A welcoming space where people can comfortably come on their own or with friends or support workers, meet and build relationships with the staff and volunteers as well as discover the support, activities and opportunities on offer here at the Ripple.
Managed by our Community Food and Health Worker and run by volunteers from the local area the Hub Grub Café offers a chance to volunteer in a supportive environment with the opportunity to access training such as the REHIS food hygiene certificate. Some people join to rebuild confidence, meet new people and learn new skills. Others see it as a step back into employment or a way to improve their English speaking skills and some just have the spare time and want to give something back to their community. Whatever the reason we make a great team, sharing and learning together.
Working in partnership with Edinburgh Community Food and the Cyrenian’s Fareshare Programme not only is our food tasty and low in cost it also uses fresh, seasonal redistributed excess food supplies.
Coffee and cake available from 10:00am
Full lunch menu from 12:00pm to 1.30pm
