– our new online community platform

Hub 21 is our online digital platform for members of Down’s Syndrome Scotland. It aims to keep our Down’s syndrome community fully connected in this new ‘remote’ world that we find ourselves living in. It is built around three interwoven themes:

- Encouraging engagement (with us)
- Developing discussions (together)
- Creating connections (with everyone)

Hub 21 gives us the opportunity to bring our Down’s syndrome community together across Scotland and allows us all to engage with each other, in ways we have not been able to do, before now. As a ‘members-only’ platform, Hub 21 is your safe place to ask for help, share ideas and resources and make connections with friends, old and new. Access to Hub 21 is controlled by Down’s Syndrome Scotland (DSS) and only members of DSS will be given access to the hub.

You can still get in touch with us by phone or email, but Hub 21 allows you to make instant contact using our ‘Live Chat’ feature or by booking an appointment, at a time that suits you, with one of our Family Support Team. The ‘Events’ pages will be frequently updated to keep you informed of events you can access, such as our popular ‘Grab a Cuppa and Zoom’ sessions, coming up in the weeks ahead. In the future, we also plan to run online parent and carer workshops which will be available to book through Hub 21. Our ‘Information & Resources’ pages are full of helpful resources and guidance that we can all add to, in the months ahead.

If you aren’t currently a member of Down’s Syndrome Scotland but would like to access Hub 21 and enjoy other exclusive member benefits you can do so at https://www.dsscotland.org.uk/support-us/become-a-member. Once we have received your membership application we will send you an invitation to enable you to access Hub 21. You are then ready to share, connect and take part in discussions with our Down’s syndrome community in Scotland.

If you are already a member of Down’s Syndrome Scotland you should have already received an invitation to join Hub 21, if you have not received this, or you are having difficulties accessing the platform, please get in touch by calling 0300 030 2121 or emailing info@dsscotland.org.uk.
