The Cheyne Gang is a community singing group for people with the condition Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease and other chronic lung disorders.
The group is led by a professional singing coach who is trained on breathing techniques and has years of experience running similar projects.
The sessions last approximately 2 hours, starting and ending with breathing exercises.
We enjoy lots of singing in between with a 15 minute break for tea/coffee and home making.
Sessions are free.
Cheyne Gang number meet at Greyfriars Charteris Centre at St Leonards and are looking to recruit more people to join them and reap the benefits of singing for breathing.
Singing offers physical, mental and social benefit and has been shown to improve breath control, reduce anxiety and improve sleep patterns.
We meet on Mondays 2pm - 4pm.
For more information send us a message or just come along for a trial session you'd be most welcome.
