Community clubs and social groups make an immense contribution older people’s wellbeing, by reducing loneliness and social isolation, and by enabling their enjoyment of stimulating and creative activities.

Age Scotland offers free resources for older people’s clubs and groups to enhance that wellbeing impact; by building physical activity into their regular get-togethers in a fun and sociable way. Research shows that adding a little extra physical activity into daily routines makes is more likely that you will enjoy long and healthy later life, and that it’s never too late to start.

Age Scotland’s Healthy Active Ageing Trainer is available to run taster sessions for groups, online and in-person (subject to current covid safety guidance). We can also equip you to run further sessions for your group by providing free resource kits and training.

To book an activity taster, please email healthandwellbeing@agescotland.org.uk or call 0333 323 2400 and ask to speak to the Health and Wellbeing Team. Body Boosting Bingo
A game of bingo with a twist. In Body Boosting Bingo the familiar rhyming bingo calls are linked to a movement, for example ‘Number 10, let’s twist again’. Players are invited to join in doing movements along to a fun music score. There are 30 numbers and movements that could be called. First to get a line is winner. The session lasts 45 minutes to an hour.
