Welcome to Fresh Start Shop!

Fresh Start Shop is situated in the building on Ferry Road Drive that was formally known as ‘The Thrift Shop’ or, as local residents liked to affectionately call it, ‘The Thrifty’. The Thrift Shop was run for 50 years by volunteers from The Old Kirk and Muirhouse Parish Church and they leave their legacy of community connectedness to Fresh Start.

Fresh Start Shop is a REVOLVE certified shop. Revolve is a quality standard for second-hand stores in Scotland and is awarded to stores that meet high standards in safety, cleanliness and service, giving shoppers that extra reassurance to shop second-hand first. This means you can shop with confidence knowing that the items you buy in Fresh Start Shop meet the highest standards.

Fresh Start Shop sells homeware, in keeping with Fresh Start’s mission statement, ‘helping people make a home for themselves’; we want customers to be able to access and purchase items to make their house a home.

Fresh Start Shop shares a space with Fresh Start Pantry – a member of ‘Your Local Pantry’. The shop is accessible to all but the Pantry is membership only. To join our Pantry go to: www.freshstartweb.org.uk/fresh-start-pantry

Monday, Tuesday & Friday 9:00am - 12:30pm.

DONATIONS...

If you would like to donate goods to The Shop, please be aware that all donations are taken at the Fresh Start warehouse situated next door at 22-24 Ferry Road Drive, Mon-Thurs 9:00am-4:00pm. We cannot accept donations directly to the Shop. We would welcome donations of:

- Cushions
- Throws or blankets
- Children’s bedding
- Vases
- Mirrors
- Small pictures
- Photo frames
- Bathroom accessories such as towel racks, bathmats, toothbrush holders etc
- Tea pots and tea sets
- Wine and beer glasses
- Kitchen utensils
- Small electrical items such as lamps and standard lamps, crock pots/slow cookers, blenders, clock radios

We unfortunately cannot accept donations of:

- Bric a brac
- Books
- Clothes (including children’s clothes)
- Shoes
- Toys
- Children’s items of any kind/baby items
- CDs, Videos, DVDs
- Furniture
