information SERVICE DETAILS

We are ae community group that supply food, cleaning products and toiletries to families in need with children who attend our local schools Juniper Green Primary, Currie Primary, Nether Currie Primary, Balerno High and Currie Community High School.

Families are referred to us by the schools.

How we operate...

- On a Friday each of the families are emailed a list of items, they choose what they need for the following week (or choose not to receive if they are ok for that week) and return their list by Monday.
- Extra supplies are ordered in - we use 100% of monetary funds given to us to purchase food - we use Fareshare, the Company Shop and Lidl/Asda
- We also supply limited fresh fruit and veg which we get from a local wholesaler in Sighthill at wholesale prices, this is usually cheaper and certainly much fresher than produce from the supermarket.

The food is then either collected by families or for those who do not have transport/live too far away we have a team of volunteer drivers who deliver to them.

There is no cost to our families for this service.

If you need assistance, please speak to your child's school or email us for further information.
