QCCC provides day opportunities for older people who have additional support needs, including those with a diagnosis of dementia, stroke or other long-term health conditions.

Day Opportunities...

Day opportunities can include a home visit, outing within the community or Centre-based service. All activities are agreed with our members initially through their individual support plans, and then on an ongoing basis.

Day opportunities are available to anyone over the age of 65 on a continuous basis. One of the most important aspects of day opportunities is that it allows people to socialise within their communities and with their peers. QCCC promotes a person centred approach to delivering services with people being offered a wide range of activities and support both at the centre and at home that are designed to meet the individual's needs. Day opportunities operate Monday to Friday from our office at The Haven, 25B Burgess Road, South Queensferry.

QCCC provides Day Care older people who have additional support needs, including those with a diagnosis of dementia, stroke or other long-term health conditions.

Day Care is available to anyone over the age of 65 on a continuous basis. One of the most important aspects of day care is that it allows people to socialise with their peers.

Queensferry Care promotes a person centred approach to delivering services with day care members being offered transport, lunch, assistance with personal care and a wide range of activities that are designed to meet the individual’s needs.

Activities...

Are agreed with our day care members through regular group meetings as well as through their individual support plans. Activities combine mental, physical and social stimulation.

These include:

- Socialising
- Reminiscence
- Quizzes
- Word Games
- Exercise
- Arts & Crafts
- Various trips & outings throughout the year

Our Catering & Hospitality...

On arrival at the day centre you are provided with tea or coffee and a light snack. Throughout the day we offer a two-course lunch and afternoon tea. The day centre also celebrates individual birthdays and special events including Christmas, Halloween, Burns, and Easter etc.

Our Transport...

Transport is provided to and from the Day Centre by mini bus. The mini bus is equipped with a lift to accommodate clients with limited mobility and wheelchair users. There is an escort on the bus to assist and support you during transportation.

Queensferry Care Day Care supports older adults from the Queensferry, Kirkliston, Dalmeny, Ratho, Ratho Station and Newbridge communities.

Referrals are received from Health and Social Care Department, G.P. Surgeries, Health Professionals, hospitals and other relevant agencies or individuals.
