NKS trained ten Community Equality Champions from the South Asian communities and is mentoring them to become effective community workers. They are on placement at NKS, volunteering with different experienced community staff, and will benefit from working with them at NKS.
Volunteering is a great way to learn the skills that you need and to gain the experience that employers look for when applying for vacancies. The volunteers are placed throughout NKS e.g. NKS Nursery, group work, family support work and outreach work etc and are supervised and supported during their placement. They are enjoying the work and learning as they go along.
