information SERVICE DETAILS

EDACS (Edinburgh Domestic Abuse Court Support) is a support and advocacy service for female victims of domestic abuse crimes going through the court process.

EDACS supports its clients by explaining the court process, the potential outcomes from the court and by completing a risk assessment and individual support and safety plan with the client. EDACS also prepare a report for all hearings to inform the court of the client’s perception of her risk and of EDACS assessment of the risk. EDACS have a worker within the domestic abuse court to advocate for the client. Sheriffs and fiscals, in our observation, regularly now ask if there is an EDACS report.

EDACS keep clients informed of the court progress and outcomes.

If you are currently going through the court process as the victim of a domestic abuse crime you can call EDACS for support on 0131 315 8122.
