The Environment...
In a place as densely built-up as the Old Town, even a small amount of open space or green space has a particular value for those who live there.
If well looked after, back courts, gardens, graveyards, or other in-between spaces can be both valuable lungs for residents, diverse habitats for wildlife and even somewhere to grow your own food.
To preserve, enhance and develop such space in the Old Town is one of EOTDT’s key aims, and as well as carrying out its own projects it wants to support the work of individual groups in all parts of the Old Town. If you would like to chat more about this and your ideas here, just contact us.
Health and Wellbeing...
Outreach Work
The outreach team do regular work within the community to build relationships and provide information about available services. If you are in need of support, do contact us and we will do our best for you.

Economic Wellbeing & Social Enterprise...
Our intention is to support the economic and professional development of Edinburgh’s Old Town, support start-up businesses and innovation, as a starting point by providing the Crannie as an office space for hire.
We want to be a base for young companies to get off the ground and grow and support local residents creating new businesses.
We offer meeting rooms for hire in The Crannie –
The Village Hall, which houses up to 25/40 people, depending on the use and how many chairs are required.
The Glass Room and the Craft Room, which have space for max 12-15, depending on the use, and can be rented out for a variety of purposes.
We are also looking to rent out the Glass Room longer term, for £1,000 month, all bills included. If you are interested please contact us.
We offer discounts for charities and local groups with an Old Town postcode.
Arts, Culture & Heritage...
The Crannie is our hub for arts, culture and heritage activities and we currently offer a Create & Connect Group, a Music Group, and a Creative Writing Class.
