Tea, coffee, chat and advice available as well as a two-course lunch.

If you need help from the Basics Bank please apply for a referral through the Edinburgh City Mission website.
Foodbank+ provides free food to those who come but is much more than just food. It is a place where people can get company and a listening ear for their problems as well.

Normally those who come are referred by a social work agency, but we will help all those in real need who come to our door.

It is a partnership between Tron Kirk Gilmerton & Moredun Church and Edinburgh City Mission.

Foodbank+ is a crisis food bank which serves people who for various reasons are struggling to mange to purchase the basics, like food and toiletries.

Foodbank+ runs on a referral basis where agencies who are engaged with our clients refer them to us in their time of need.

All the main support agencies have information and referral forms for Foodbank+.

Edinburgh City Mission operates a referral-only service from a large network of local agencies. This ensures that help is given to those with genuine needs.

If you need the help of Basics Bank please have a Social Care or Health Agency Worker contact us. The agency will then refer you to Basics Bank.

In addition, professionals or practitioners such as doctors, health workers, support workers, social workers. ministers and charity agencies who wish to refer families or individuals for food support at our Basics Banks can do so at https://edinburghcitymission.org.uk/support/referrals.
