Rangers is for young women 14 to 18 years old.

An exciting and flexible programme with a huge variety of challenges and opportunities for personal development, sure to impress universities and potential employers alike!

Through the Ranger programme, girls are encouraged to try out new things from a wide range of activities and challenges on offer. From learning a language or playing a musical instrument to running a marathon, camping in the wild, or volunteering overseas.

Rangers can undertake a wide range of awards and qualifications, including the Leadership qualification, which helps them in running guiding units for younger girls; the internationally-recognised Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme; and other prestigious awards specific to guiding.

There are many international opportunities open to Rangers—from attending guiding events abroad to volunteering on community projects in developing countries.

Members also have the unique opportunity to become Peer Educators, trained to run sessions on issues that affect girls and young women, such as binge drinking, bullying, stress management, and sexual health.

Or make their voices heard by joining the guiding delegation at the British Youth Council, for example, or having a say in the future of guiding by attending one of our Innovate meetings.

Fees...

Units charge ‘subs’ to cover the cost of equipment and hire of the meeting place. These can be paid weekly, monthly or each term. There’s also an annual subscription which covers the day-to-day running of the charity. This is sometimes included in the subs. Subs vary from area to area – your local leader will be able to tell you how much subs are and when they need to be paid.
