Got Soul Choir

The Got Soul Choir was founded by Maryam Ghaffari in Edinburgh in 2012 out of a sheer love of soul music, a passion to serve her community and to make a difference. The Choir has now run hundreds of workshops, performed in some of the country's most prestigious music venues and expanded to Glasgow, Dundee and Dunfermline.

How to describe Got Soul Choir? You could try raucous, passionate, fun, energetic, exciting but at the same time it is almost impossible to nail it down with a few words - you really have to experience it. Whether they sing as a 100 strong choir at one of their electrifying concerts or as a sextet at a wedding, they touch, move and inspire.

Every Got Soul Choir put their heart and soul into performances and are at home on any stage: conferences, corporate functions, after-show parties, clubs, weddings, schools, prisons, funerals, churches, outdoor events and festivals.

Powerful, passionate, professional, the Got Soul Choirs are a soul shakin', pulse racin', foot stompin' celebration of sound and vision.

We are committed to bringing people together out of isolation and loneliness through the arts and the love of soul music. Our soul singin' workshops are open to all over the age of 16 regardless of experience. There is no need to read sheet music and no previous choir experience needed.

Got Soul Choir was set up to bring people together who want to have fun, make new friends, let their hair down, have a right good belly laugh AND sing their heart out! Soul music is at the core of what we do because it makes you wanna move, wanna shake and raise the roof! For soul music is like a light switch, you flick it and everything comes on.
