About us:

Edinburgh International Science Festival, founded in 1989, is an educational charity that encourages people of all ages and backgrounds to discover the wonder of the world around them. We are best known for organising Edinburgh's annual Science Festival - the world's first celebration of science and technology - and still one of Europe's largest.

We are also committed to communicating the excitement and benefits of science in innovative and engaging ways throughout the year, and to bringing science to life with Generation Science, our schools' touring programme.

Our passion is creating 'A-ha' moments that illuminate the mysteries of our world. All our people strive hard to offer science and technology that children and grown-ups love to do.

Across all of Scotland our travelling programme Generation Science tours inspirational science shows and workshops to over 50,000 children and their teachers.
