information DESCRIPTION

Dalmeny Kirk is the focal point of Dalmeny village, and is one of the best-preserved Norman Parish churches in Scotland.

The national importance of Dalmeny Kirk is reflected by its category A listing. The church dominates the village in terms of its height and architecture. It was built in the early 12th century and has 17th century additions, with the tower constructed in 1937. The main entrance to the church is on the South elevation where its bestiary carvings and Romanesque columns are of particular architectural merit and are widely documented. The churchyard is also listed, and contains a variety of graves and monuments with the earliest dating from 1678.

It is our hope and prayer that as you visit this ancient and beautiful church you too may meet with God, and find both inspiration and encouragement to face the challenges of life in the 21st century.

Better still, why not come and join the community of faith as we journey together discovering that with us goes a living God who freely offers us:

- Forgiveness for all that is past.
- Purpose in our everyday present.
- Hope in our often uncertain future.

Dalmeny Kirk is linked in charge with Queensferry Parish Church.
