Appointments...

Making an Appointment - TELEPHONE TRIAGE SYSTEM:

Thanks to this system we are able to free up doctor availability so that we can help more patients each day and make sure we can see EVERY patient that needs to be seen.

Call the surgery and speak to one of our Care Coordinators.

The Care Coordinators will ask you some questions about your problem so that all requests for health advice are dealt with quickly and appropriately. They may suggest you see the pharmacist, dentist, optician or other health care professional if they can deal with your problem better than the doctor.

They will then book you in for a doctor to call you back on the same day. Please have your phone number to hand when you ring us.

The doctor or advanced nurse practitioner will aim to phone you back within 2-3 hours if you are booked for morning slot or after 2:00pm if you are booked for afternoon slot. Please keep your phone switched on and close by you while waiting for the call.

If you miss the call, the GP will always try a second final time to call you back.

The doctor may be able to deal with your problem over the phone. If it is agreed that you need to be seen the doctor will arrange an appointment for you to come down on the same day or on a suitable day for you.

Appointments with a Nurse

The Nursing Team have an appointment system, but also aim to be flexible and opportunistic in the care they offer, providing a wide range of services to all age groups. When ringing for an appointment, please let the receptionist know why you are attending as this will enable her to allocate you the appropriate nurse to deal with your problem.
