information DESCRIPTION

Welcome to the world of Scouting and the 7th Edinburgh North East Scout Group (Trinity).

We are an active group with busy Beaver, Cub and Scout sections.

We believe that young people develop most when they are learning by doing, when they are given responsibility, work in teams, take acceptable risks and think for themselves. Everything we do is guided by the balanced programme which is a continuous progression of training, activities, badges and awards for young people from 6 to 25. We offer a huge range of activities and experiences to suit all ages, abilities and interests including:

Badge work – we still award badges and today there are lots of subjects to choose from including some traditional ones like camp cook to modern ones like global conservation.

Awards and challenges – young people can work towards a range of these to reward participation, commitment and achievement. Some are individual and others for group efforts.

Outdoors – camping and outdoor activities are a very important part of Scouting for all our members. This includes anything from a Beaver experiencing their first ever night away from home and family at a sleepover, to an expedition to Mount Everest.

Providing life skills, fun, rewards, and confidence to our children of North Edinburgh and surrounding areas through Scouting.

There are loads of fun things that you can do as a Beaver, Cub and Scout.

You will get a chance to try lots of different activities like swimming, music, exploring, computing and collecting. If you do them properly you will get a badge which you can wear on your uniform.

Cub Scouts also get to go on trips and days out, to places like the zoo, theme parks or a farm. Sometimes you will be able to go camping with the rest of your Pack. This will mean you sleeping in a tent and doing loads of outdoor activities.

Sea Scouts...

Sea Scouting has the same Purpose and Values as any other Scout Troop, and delivers the same Programme, but with a nautical twist.

All young people in Scouting have the opportunity to enjoy water activities, but in Sea Scouting, considerable emphasis is on these activities, and many aspects of naval and nautical traditions are incorporated.

Sea Scouting is available to young people from the age of 10½

The aim of sea scouting...

Sea scout training is aimed at making a young person as much at home on the water as they are on land. It teaches them nautical skills and seamanship in a range of craft.

Scouting is run by adult volunteers.

We’d love you to join us in Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, or to volunteer as an adult.

Join the adventure!
