Many people living with long term conditions find it difficult to access appropriate mainstream exercise and fitness classes and as a result, are unable to remain healthy and manage their condition.
KICC Active Lothian is an on-going project. We are facilitating the establishment of accessible, self-management community based exercise programmes in Lothian.
Pilates is designed to restore the body to balance, improving physical strength, posture, co-ordination and flexibility as well as mental wellbeing through a system of exercises and breathing techniques.

The regular practice of Pilates is a common recommendation of physiotherapists on discharge from rehabilitation programmes.
