Queensferry Care provides Day Care opportunities for older people who have diagnosis of dementia.
Day Care is available to anyone over the age of 65 on a continuous basis. One of the most important aspects of day care is that it allows people to socialise with their peers.
Queensferry Care promotes a person centred approach to delivering services with day care members being offered transport, lunch, assistance with personal care and a wide range of activities that are designed to meet the individual’s needs.
Are agreed with our day care members through regular group meetings as well as through their individual support plans. Activities combine mental, physical and social stimulation.
- Word Games
- Arts & Crafts
- Various trips & outings throughout the year
Our Catering & Hospitality:
On arrival at the day centre you are provided with tea or coffee and a light snack. Throughout the day we offer a two-course lunch and afternoon tea. The day centre also celebrates individual birthdays and special events including Christmas, Halloween, Burns, and Easter etc.
Transport is provided to and from the Day Centre by mini bus. The mini bus is equipped with a lift to accommodate clients with limited mobility and wheelchair users. There is an escort on the bus to assist and support you during transportation.
Queensferry Care Day Care supports older adults form the Queensferry, Kirkliston, Dalmeny, Ratho, Ratho Station and Newbridge communities.
Our Referral Procedure:
We operate an open referral system (this means that anyone can request this service) for people who live in the communities we serve. Once a referral has been received, we will arrange a home visit to complete an assessment for suitability. Following this, you will be offered one day a week for a four week trial period, after which a review will be held and an allocation of days will then be given.
